School Improvement Plan

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to prepare students to become problem solvers and lifelong learners for an ever-changing world.

Target Goals:

1. All students will improve their written communication across the curriculum.
   We define communication as the organization of information for effective writing.
2. All students will improve their critical thinking skills across the curriculum.
   We define critical thinking as the ability to extract and apply essential information in a variety of situations.

Interventions:

• Instructional Intervention –Goal 1
  Teachers will instruct students in the use of a variety of graphic organizers and summarizers.
• Instructional Intervention –Goal 2
  Teachers will use a variety of strategies to teach critical thinking skills in their content area.
• Communication Intervention
  The school will develop and utilize means of informing parents and community of the school’s SIP efforts.
• SHC Partnership Intervention
  The school will develop and utilize means to involve parents and community in the students’ learning process.
• Technology Intervention
  The school will develop and utilize means to incorporate the use of technology into regular classroom instruction.
